1960s MCM California Originals Ashtray #464 Art Pottery Abstract Drip Glaze VTG

Does this scream Mid Century Modern 1960s or what? I just couldn't pass this one up. Gorgeous large drip glaze ash tray in deep red, orange and yellow on a dark brown background. Also makes a great paint brush holder in the studio.  This piece has real depth in its design. The colors are incredibly bright and brilliant in person and I just couldn't get the red or yellow to come through that well in the photos. There's a dark red base color throughout the design. Personally I would hang this as art but it can certainly be used for its original function. If you're into MCM this piece is perfect. Marked Calif. Orig. #464 USA.
California Originals were made in Torrance CA from the 1950s - 1982. This one is from the 50s or 60s.
Condition: Like new, no defects.
